Carry Yourself With Grace
Aug 03, 2024I have often heard the phrase “carry yourself with grace” but never really understood what it meant. It is beautiful how life, through a series of events and experiences, teaches us the true meaning of such phrases. This has been the case with my journey to understanding grace.
Recently, I have delved deeper into embodying love and holding myself in this state no matter what. Regardless of who is around, what is being said, or how triggering a situation can be, I strive to maintain pure and unconditional love. This has been extremely challenging because, over time, we condition ourselves to react automatically, unaware of how deep some of our wounds run—the anger, the hostility, the judgment.
Becoming hyper-aware of these reactions can be overwhelming at first. It feels almost robotic, as you think about every move, breath, thought, and feeling. But over time, it becomes a dance. The more you tame the beast within, the easier it gets, and the more your surroundings reflect your growth. The outer world becomes a playground for your evolution, helping you become more of who you truly are and want to be.
Grace means interacting with yourself and the world with kindness and goodwill. To embody this, I had to confront anything that didn't fit this model, allowing it to burn away in the flames of the Divine. What I realized was this: it is actually easier to hold love and compassion for everyone and everything because then you allow that for yourself.
When you finally let go and become forgiving and loving toward yourself, everything becomes more beautiful, joyous, and mystical. The feelings you derive from this compel you to act in ways that enable others to feel the same. The result? A better world. A more kind and loving species that defaults to support instead of separation, love instead of judgment, and forgiveness instead of condemnation.
Wouldn’t you want that for someone you love? Your child, your friend, your parents? To allow others to change, you need to step up and become that change. I am now at a point where I feel excited to face these challenges and grow. Each moment is an opportunity to address the deepest parts of myself that no longer serve me and to do better.
I promise, it is liberating, freeing, and rewarding. You won’t want to stop, and then the magic will follow.
